Still our go-to sushi spot. Seated at the bar for the first time, and the level of service is unbeatable. Sensei helped us and asked whether or not we want ginger/wasabi and will prep it in front of us. Aiden, our server, was also super friendly and helpful. On 11/21/24 around 7:30ish, was especially hungry, and ordered: - Nabeyaki Udon $13: hearty, and perfect for a cold night. Affordable too! - Honey hand roll $8: tasty, would get again. - Winter Albacore Sashimi $19.80: this wasn't my fave, so I wouldn't get again. SO Got the Una Don at $16.80. Still one of his faves.

I recently visited this restaurant for a lunch date with a friend and was impressed by the food, which was delicious across the board. However, the service left something to be desired. At the end of our meal, I ordered a simple roll to-go, which took 30 minutes to prepare. Despite following up multiple times, it turned out the roll had been ready and sitting out for some time. That said, we still had an enjoyable experience overall and thoroughly appreciated the quality of the food.

The place was clean and we got seated right away! The main thing I wanted to point out is their customer service. Their customer service was extraordinary. We came up to visit my sister and we settled on this place because my sister said it's always packed and we are sushi lovers! What we did not realize, was they were closing soon! My friends and I were just vibing and enjoying the food when we realized the place only had one other table so we were like "oh crap what time do they close?" They literally already had closed and we felt so bad so we were trying to wolf down the food as fast as we could and asked for the check and apologized to our server for over staying. But she was so nice and told us not to worry and to enjoy our food. She also somehow over heard us that we were celebrating my sister's birthday and brought us some complimentary ice cream! So sweet, much love to the wonderful staff here.

High quality sushi with a variety of price ranges. The signature rolls are pricier but the quality of the fish is amazing. The regular rolls are more affordable and are still delicious. The sushi chefs at the bar were very kind and hospitable and it was cool to see these chefs craft their art. Interior and exterior seating are really cozy feeling and service was excellent overall. Love this katsuya because it is the most convenient. The one in the village always has a crazy wait and encino too. If i sit at the bar i could be in and out in 30 mins. Fast service & honestly the food quality is much better at this location compared to others in my opinion + parking is free. At the other locations they are not

Katsu-Ya is a perfect local restaurant and honestly my favorite sushi spot in the valley or in all of LA. The service here is amazing with welcoming workers and they were super attentive. The whole restaurant was full of guests yet they still managed to get our food out in less than 10 minutes. The food is so good. Their crispy rice with spicy tuna is a 10/10 the rice is so crunchy and the tuna is so flavorful. The spicy tuna hand roll, spicy yellowtail hand roll, and spicy albacore hand roll was so delicious and was a huge portion for a great price. The negihama cut roll is so delicious as well as their rainbow sushi which is flavorful and packed with flavors. Their spicy scallop cut roll is so creamy and tasty paired with a delicious sauce. The ambiance is beautiful and traditional. Overall, I give Katsu-Ya a 10/10 for being a local spot in the valley and an amazing restaurant!

Lunch was yummy! Friday around 1:30pm. Sat at the bar. Came in at a great time! We ordered: Spicy tuna crispy rice Shishito peppers Toro nigiri Albacore belly nigiri Salmon belly nigiri Sea bream nigiri Amberjack nigiri Spicy tuna popcorn shrimp roll Blue crab HR Kori in light beer Leandro was our sushi chef and her was great! Super sweet and attentive :-) and made everything to our liking! thank you!

A solid sushi place in Northridge for a fair price! I enjoyed the chirashi bento box set I got- all the fish was fresh and the rice was the right temperature and taste. The service was really attentive and the parking is quite easy as there is a big plaza! I'm eager to try the udon next cus it looks so delicious and super affordable!
